first_imgCongratulations: Congratulations to Buncrana native Nora Stapleton who was part of the victorious Irish Rugby squad who won the Grand Slam in the Ladies Six Nations at the weekend.St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations: Buncrana GAA are delighted to be awarded overall winners in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Congratulations to all involved and especially Shaun Porter and St. Patrick himself, Terry Tedstone. There was wonderful entertainment in the clubhouse with a great celebration of our culture in traditional song, music and dance. Thanks to all who attended.  Annual Dinner Dance and Awards Ceremony: Buncrana GAA Annual Dinner Dance and Awards Ceremony will be held on Saturday 30th March in the Inishowen Gateway. Tickets are priced at €25 and are on sale now. Guest of honour will be our All-Ireland hero Ryan Bradley, and the Sam Maguire and Liam McCarthy cups will be in attendance. A great night is guaranteed. Senior and Reserve Football: Training will continue each Tuesday and Friday at 7.30pm and on Sundays at 11.00am. All new and returning players who are over the age of 16 and wish to play in Division 2 this year are invited to attend.  Girls Football: Girls football training is on Monday night at 7.00pm sharp. Open to all girls from the ages of 9 to 16 years of age. New players are also welcome. Please bring your own water bottle. U8 Hurling: U8 Hurling will continue each Wednesday at 5.30-6.30pm in Crana College. Newcomers are always welcome to come along and learn the basic skills of Hurling in a fun, safe environment. U8 Football: U8 Football will continue on Friday at 6.30pm, new members are always welcome. U5 and U6 Gaelic Games: Under 5s and 6s sessions continue on Saturday mornings at 11.15am sharp in Crana College. The sessions are based on GAA Fundamentals; a Croke Park initiative based on European wide research aimed at bettering your child’s coordination (including hand eye) balance, agility and basic fitness in a fun filled environment. It is also an introduction into the basic skills of Gaelic games This is for children turning 5 or 6 years of age in 2013 and all are welcome. Club Notes: Anyone who would like to receive a copy of the weekly club notes should email Oisín at buncrana.pro@gmail.com to be included on the mailing list. first_imgGo back to the enewsletterMSC and Fincantieri have signed final contracts for the construction of four luxury cruise ships.“With this now firm order, MSC is entering a new segment that bears significant potential globally,” said Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of MSC’s Cruises Division.“While we already serve the premium market with the MSC Yacht Club featured on MSC Cruises’ fleet, our new true luxury brand will deliver to this separate and fast-growing segment with super-yacht vessels and an experience to match that.”Giuseppe Bono, Fincantieri’s Chief Executive Officer said the shipbuilder was delighted to have finalised the deal, just five months from flagging a preliminary agreement.“Fincantieri’s reputation in a complex market such as the cruise one is at an all-time high. Our leadership in the luxury segment, among the most active ones, grows even stronger with these four ships, alongside our relationship with MSC and its growth plans.”The contracts, subject to shipowner financing, have a total value exceeding EUR 2 billion. As per the terms of the agreement, the first of the four ships will be delivered by Spring 2023. The remaining three will come into service one per year over the following three years through 2026.All four vessels will have a gross tonnage of approximately 64,000 GT and will feature the latest maritime and environmental technologies available. Each equipped with 481 suites, they will also showcase a highly-innovative design and introduce ground-breaking options for guest comfort and relaxation.Since starting to work with Fincantieri in 2014, MSC has also ordered four ships for its contemporary MSC Cruises brand, for a value of EUR 3.2 billion. The first two of these vessels, MSC Seaside and MSC Seaview, are already in service. The next two vessels will be delivered in 2021 and 2022, with MSC Seashore already under construction at Fincantieri’s yard in Monfalcone.Go back to the enewsletterlast_img read more
