Worker dies after getting stuck in machine at soybean plant

first_imgAkola: A 35-year-old worker died after getting stuck in a machine at a soybean processing plant in Akola district of Maharashtra on Saturday morning, police said. The incident took place around 7 am at Vani Rambhapur village, police said. “Datta Shriram Chopde, a resident of Kolambi village, was working at the unit when he got trapped in the machine and died on the spot,” inspector Harish Gawali of Borgaon police station said. After being informed about the incident, a police team rushed to the site, he said, adding that efforts to retrieve the mortal remains of the worker from the machine are on.last_img

Six year old dies after stone assault

A six year old child who was assaulted by a woman using a stone within the premises of a school in Ella last week, died in hospital last night.The police media unit said that the woman had been arrested following the assault last Friday while the child was admitted to the Badulla hospital. The woman who assaulted the child had been remanded when she was produced in court last week. The assault had taken place inside the Kithalanwatta Tamil Vidyalaya and the victim was identified as 6 year old Manoj Sivakumari, a resident of Kithalanwatta, Ella. The child died last night while receiving treatment at the Badulla hospital for the injuries suffered from the assault.According to the police the motive for the assault is still unknown.
