Trunk Show Features Indian, Pakistani Designers in UAE

first_imgFamous Indian and Pakistani designers are showcasing their collections at a fashion and lifestyle exhibition in Dubai and Abu Dhabi this month ahead of the festive season. The SoPritti Trunk Show features 45 high-profile names travelling to the UAE after showcasing their work at the India Couture Week in New Delhi.Among the Indian designers participating in the event are Rimple & Harpreet Narula, who were responsible for Deepika Padukone’s wardrobe in the film Padmavati; Reynu Taandon who has dressed Bhumi Pednekar; and menswear designer Sarab Khanijou, whose designs were worn by actors Arjun Kapoor, Randeep Hooda and Sidharth Malhotra. Jewellery designer Queenie Singh, whose pieces were worn by likes of Katrina Kaif, Kangana Ranaut and Naomi Campbell, will also take part in the event.Designers from Pakistan, who will present their creations on the occasion, include Agha Noor, Maheen Karim, Ayesha Farook and Gul Ahmed. Noor and Karim are known for their intricate embroidery work on kurtas, jumpsuits, ponchos and trousers. Farook, on the other hand, creates made-to-order kaftans, tunics and dresses while Ahmed offers both stitched ensembles and unstitched fabrics for women and men.The collections presented include ready-to-wear, eveningwear and bridal ensemble.This is the 15th edition of SoPritti Events, which is a brainchild of UAE-based Pritti Nanda, and curates fashion and lifestyle products for global South Asian community.
