iPhoto 11 update solves major issues introduces new email features

first_imgiLife ’11 was first announced during the “Back to the Mac” event in October and included updates to iLife’s suite of applications including iPhoto. iPhoto ’11 had some nice goodies when launched, but had some rough edges prompting Apple to introduce a major update this week.Early adopters of iPhoto ’11 have been frustrated by a flaw which caused reliability issues and messed with the sort order of Events when users imported their older iPhoto library. The new update addresses that as well as a number of other minor issues including text formatting controls becoming inaccessible when editing a calendar, and photos not sorting correctly or the scrolling overlay not correctly displaying ratings when photos are sorted by rating. Also corrected is an issue which could cause duplicate photos to be added to a MobileMe album.AdChoices广告Besides plugging some holes in the dam, Apple used the update to throw in some additional enhancements for good measure. A few center around emailing photos. The first adds a preference which allows photos to be emailed using an external email application, while another gives users the ability to size photos to small, medium or large when attaching to an email. Users will also have two new themes for email including “Classic” and “Journal.” Another enhancement, unrelated to email, allows event titles displayed in headers to be edited. To receive the update to iPhoto 9.1.1, iLife ’11 users can run Software Update or simply download the update directly from the Apple Support website.Read more at Apple and PCMag.comlast_img read more
