The services are scheduled to begin 2 June 2016 offering, for the first time, non-stop charter flights from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. and Dominica, several times a week.A test flight of the new jet charter flight landed at Douglas Charles Airport in Marigot on Friday 6 May 2016 while the flight schedule should be released next week. According to Island Fun Tours, the nonstop flights will be able to offer consistent service at reasonable fares, and red carpet service, allowing passengers to travel to and from Dominica in less than four hours, while assuring that passengers and luggage will arrive together. President of Island Fun Tours, Blair Webb told a launching ceremony at Douglas Charles on Friday, support from the Dominican public will be crucial to the success of this new venture.“The more that they assist by flying with us, the better it’s going to get because we can come in and do more flights, we can get bigger jets, we can go into bigger aircrafts, but we need the support from the public; the more support we get from the public, the better it’s gonna get,” Webb said. President of RVR, Ron Whitehead said he is pleased with the test flight which left Fort Lauderdale at 9AM and arrived here according to schedule at 12:12PM.They plan to work “very closely” with all officials in Dominica, Ministry of Tourism as well as business groups and locals, to assist with specialized needs and services, while allowing RVR flights, pricing, and packages to target the needs of these passengers.Tickets for flights and updated information will be available very soon; and Resort Air Services will begin to book seats for the new jet charter service.Island Fun Tours will be the agent in Dominica; and there will be an online purchase program, local ticketing centers, and many incentive deals and packages throughout the year.“We are all very excited about this launch, and want to thank you all in advance for your support of this much needed Jet Charter service – nonstop – from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Douglas Charles Airport Dominica,” the company said.
